The ACCESS-2-LIFE Advancement Program CROSSOVER Pre-varsity Summer School's main goal is to prepare learners for life after high school, irrespective of whether they will enroll at institutions of higher learning or will directly enter the working world. It was initiated out of the understanding that there is a need for a program to equip learners to successfully advance beyond the Grade 12 exams by moving them from being learners to students. Team members have over 21 years of combined expertise, knowledge and practice in student support, teaching, tutoring and development.
RELEVANCE
The winter school will deliver valuable knowledge and skills so that the learners can excel academically. In addition to the school subjects, the program will cover workshops on academic excellence, having the right attitude towards studies, life skills, problem-solving, critical literacy skills and mentorship.
Using information from our work with university students, we have identified areas that can be developed when learners finish grade 12 to fill the gap between school and university, college or the world of work.
The Online Summer School is an opportunity for new Matriculants to get insight, gain new skills and advance their knowledge before entering campus or the office. It is an opportunity to gain both academic and non-academic skills that are crucial for the next phase of life.
TUITION & FACILITATION
The content will be facilitated online for a period of a month, with the option of renewing membership after the initial 1-month Summer School program. Students will have access to the content anytime of the day for the duration of the Summer School and will also have the opportunity to consult with our team.
WHO SHOULD ENROLL
Any learner heading to college, a university of technology, a university or going entering the world of work after the Matric results are published wanting to improve their subject(s) knowledge in preparation for university or college, anyone wanting to gain a broader range of skills or just wanting a chance to be mentored by university students and graduates should apply to be part of the Access-2-life Online Summer School Program.
